Good health is the foundation of everything. It is an amazing gift to finally find healing, especially after doctors tell you to “just live with it”.

To heal, you have to believe that you can heal, and that you are worthy of healthy skin. This is where the emotional element comes into play.

Many of us have resigned ourselves to a life of suffering or inconvenience, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

This book is an easy to read, straightforward guide, to help you to help yourself. It’s an updated and expanded version of the “Beating Psoriasis” series from the website.

Living with Psoriasis

The National Psoriasis Foundation estimates that 125 million people worldwide have psoriasis. 10 to 30 percent of people with psoriasis also develop psoriatic arthritis.

It’s not just about dry skin, or flaking, peeling and itching. Those symptoms are a sign of skin damage and underlying immune system issues.

No doctor can heal you – all they can do is help your body to heal itself. The better you understand your body and your personal triggers, the better your chance at healing.

“Psoriasis Healing” lets you know that you are not alone, and it is possible to get through this.

  1. Hi Laurie,
so happy to see you found peace with this. I hope me and many more sufferers find the solution as well. I am dairy free since more than 3 years and gf and sugar free for more than 1.5 years. also do IF. I am vegan. not sure what else I need to leave!:)

    1. Hi Aesha.

Good for you for working to eat cleanly and take care of yourself. It’s possible that you might need to add something back to your diet, as it can be very challenging to get at the nutrients we need from only plant sources. Maybe you could find a local healthcare provider who could help you look into your gut health, possible allergies, and/or nutrient deficiencies. It can be a complicated puzzle to unravel.

  2. Hope you & yours Feel much Better soon . Thank you so much for sharing your life experiences with us. Much appreciation Laurie (lovely name by the way) Cooper

    1. Thank you for your kindness. We’re shifted from fever, chills, extreme lethargy, body aches and random stabbing pain to weird nerve “itchiness”, mild fatigue, and congestion, so not out of the woods yet, but we can start getting back to work. Baby steps.

  3. I live in South Afrika…so if my spelling is bad its bacause im not very good in English.
I have orderd your book. cant wait to read it. I have Candida on my face and and psoriases on my body. I am just lifeless about myself. I do not like taking meds so the natural way is the best. Im a hairdresser and I work with people all dag…and my face looks like a red lining of sores…thanx for sharing…

    1. I hope you can get some relief. My skin hurt so badly for months, but now has been clear for years, so it can be done.

  4. You look great! I’m suffering with it but only on my face due to over using steroid creams and oral steroids.
I had an allergy reaction then all of a sudden a flare up. I currently have it on my scalp, face and neck. My body is clear.
What creams/moisturisers did and do you use? Are you using steroid based or just natural/ petroleum jelly?

I’m about to purchase your book on Amazon.

I’d be grateful if you replied. Thanks

    1. Ouch! Thankfully I’ve been clear for several years now, but I remember the pain. I tried a lot of different things, but what I finally settled with was argon oil. It moisturizes without clogging pores. I’m still using it for general moisturizing. I did use petroleum jelly for a bit, but didn’t like the heavy feeling.

  5. I have formulated a plant base skin cream for dry flakey skin that works , Dr Ed’s silky hand and body lotion and cream, it was formulated for my wife extremely dry skin condition and it works, I have given samples to a number of people and they said it has eliminated their dry skin, will be happy to send you a sample.

  6. Hard to believe that was really you Laurie!

Just cutting down on bread (with gluten) at breakfast time solved a 20 year old psoriasis issue for me.

  7. Everything I am reading is that psoriasis is incurable so by remissions do you mean that you get extended relief from flare ups or that you have found a way to cure.

    1. I can’t legally use the word “cure”, and it’s possible I could have another flare up. On my death bed we can check back in and see if my skin stayed clear, but hopefully that won’t be for another 50 years.

All I can say is that for the last several years, the skin condition my doctor told me would never go away, has, which works for me.

I had a positive diagnosis with biopsy for plaque psoriasis. Much of my body was covered in nasty, flaky oozing plaques that hurt like hell. It’s not anymore. My right palm is still a little dry, but no cracking, oozing redness, and my lips have been a little chapped lately, but I’m not sure if that’s candida or peri-menopause.

Either way, no more painful skin, no more having people stare at me in public. I am free to live my life again, and I want others to have that chance, too.
